Am 18. Februar findet in der Messe Frankfurt der Digital FutureCongress statt. Unter anderem gibt es eine Start-up Pitching Session, bei der zwei von 24 Teilnehmern aus dem ESA BIC Hessen & Baden-Württemberg kommen – SFM Systems und ThingsOnAir. Eine Jury bewertet die 5-minütigen Pitches. Sie können bereits vorab Ihre drei Lieblingsstart-ups online auswählen. Die Abstimmung fließt in das Ergebnis ein.

AR.fx use cases smartphone

The ESA BIC startup from Hessen & Baden-Württemberg ARtist has announced the Open Alpha Release of their Augmented Reality application AR.fx and the start of their crowdfunding campaign. The App enables you to create, place and to interact with location-based 3D content in Augmented Reality utilizing smartphones. AR.fx incorporates gamification elements such as Blueprints (you can connect pre-defined linedots in AR and create 3D experiences) and multiplayer capability along with Scene-Editor. On a global map you can explore and physically interact with AR content of your interest, which is organized in various Sub-Spaces. The obtained 3D objects can be used to create unique AR scenes utilizing the Scene-Editor.

The team from ARtist welcomes you to be their Beta Test User and to support them with their crowdfunding campaign.

Prämiert wurde die MicroJobbing-App in der Kategorie Beste Geld-Verdiener-App“. Mit der App von Entwickler und ESA BIC Alumni wer denkt was GmbH kann man kleine Aufgaben per Smartphone erledigen und dafür eine Belohnung von einigen Euro erhalten.

Sooqua, who will start incubation at ESA BIC Hessen & Baden-Württemberg in 2020, won the TU Ideenwettbewerb of the Technical University of Darmstadt in the category „scientists“. They pitched and were honoured on Thursday, 12th December 2019, at Darmstadtium during the Startup & Innovation Day. Dr. Frank Zimmermann, managing director of cesah, had been in the jury.

Sooqua is a SaaS-Solution (Software as a Service) for Water Utilities and private Companies. It analyzes Sensor Data with Machine-Learning Algorithms and thus shows the Networks Realtime Status. Sooqua helps to minimize Leakage and prevent Pipe Bursts. The team has already been selected for the ESA BIC programme in Darmstadt and will enter next year.

cesah attended the fair area of the Startup and Innovation Day as exhibitor. The event organised by HIGHEST was a very good opportunity to network, to attract new candidates for the ESA BIC and to work on fruitful coorperations. Many start-ups from the ESA BIC network took part, too: Floating Office, SFM SystemsSolorrowL-One, SuperVision EarthMagnoTherm Solutions

HOSTmi won the 2nd place of the Forbes Space Award! Despite a very strong competition against 13 other highly innovative startups, they could land a high position on the podium. The Startup Pitch Competition at the NSE ExpoForum in Rome was organized by Fondazione E. Amaldi together with LIFTT, Forbes Italia and Space Generation Advisory Council. HOSTmi is an online B2B platform for the matchmaking process between space-payload owners and space-service providers.
Our start-up RideLink is 1st price winner of the Galileo Masters 2019 – former European Satellite Navigation Competition (ESNC) – in the regional challenge of Hesse! Stefan Kaufmann was honoured on Wednesday, 4th December, in Helsinki. Second and third price went to RoadEO and OKAPI:Orbits. Xylene won the Galileo.Copernicus Synergy Challenge. "All in all it was a very successful competition for our participating teams", said Donata Pedrazzani, manager of the ESA BIC Hessen & Baden-Württemberg, based in Darmstadt.

RideLink will start its incubation at the ESA BIC in Darmstadt in 2020, developing the first automatic and retrofit e-call for motorcycles. The aim is to increase active and passive safety for motorcycle drivers in cooperation with the German insurance industry. RideLink detects an accident and sends the actual positioning data based on GNSS to the rescue center. RideLink also includes a break down service, an anti-theft detection as well as a routing and tracking app which advises the driver based on his driving behavior, the street and weather conditions. 
RideLink was among the first 10 best ideas of the international Galileo Masters.

The Galileo Masters Awards Ceremony took place in front of an international audience during the European Space Week 2019 in Helsinki, Finland. The overall winner of the Galileo Masters 
 is Aeroficial Intelligence from Austria, the overall winner of the Copernicus Masters is Green City Watch from the Netherlands.

2nd price winner of the Hesse Challenge is RoadEO from the ESA BIC Noordwijk. RoadEO is building a global road quality monitoring and prediction platform with the goal of reducing maintenance efforts and decreasing CO2 emissions while improving road comfort and safety. Galileo provides them improved accuracy and reliability.

3rd price went to OKAPI:Orbits. They will start its incubation at the ESA BIC Hessen & Baden-Württemberg in 2020. The startup is dedicated to make space travel more sustainable through a Collision Avoidance Software for satellites. The OKAPI:Orbits team is focused on creating innovative and efficient products to enable safe and secure satellite operations and seemless ground segment integration.

Exiting news – cesah and TechQuartier announce a new partnership. The collaboration with the Frankfurt-based innovation hub shall provide market access to emerging new technologies and startup networks. It shall foster the exchange of expertise and of information about technologies and trends in the space domain.

The partnership was announced on a first joint event at TechQuartier on 31st October. cesah provided speakers – within the European Space Talks initiative of ESA – for Laptop & Leibchen, an existing event format of TechQuartier and Eintracht Frankfurt. The ESA expert Prof. Dr.-Ing. Reinhold Bertrand, Head of Research and Technology Management Office ESOC, as well as two start-ups from cesah/ESA BIC Hessen & Baden-Württemberg (TrackticsPanda Insight) took part in the panel discussion.
